Teaching
Since I began teaching more than 35 years ago, I’ve had the pleasure of working with therapists at all levels of experience, both in formal academic and clinical settings, and in intimate private study groups. Having taught extensively on the work of Freud, Ferenczi, Klein, Winnicott, Bowlby, Bion, Sullivan, Kohut, Matte-Blanco, Ferro, Civitarese, Bollas, and others, I have developed a particular interest in weaving together the disparate schools of psychoanalytic theory, and clarifying complex ideas in a way that makes them more ‘user-friendly’ and deepens day-to-day clinical work. The following summary should provide a sense of the range of my teaching and consultation interests.
